POSITION SUMMARY:

Martis Camp is seeking professional and hospitality-driven Fitness Center Attendants to join our team for the season. As a key member of the Fitness Team, this role sets the tone for the Member experience — creating a welcoming, organized, and elevated environment from the moment Members arrive. This position works closely with the Fitness Director, Fitness Coordinator and Instructors, while collaborating cross‑departmentally to deliver a seamless and exceptional wellness experience.

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 2–3 years of hospitality or customer service experience, a positive and proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for fitness and wellness.

You’ll join an energizing team all while gaining experience working at one of the country’s best, most sought-after private clubs. This opportunity has the potential to grow into opportunities for future seasons, including a full-time, year-round position.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Member Reception & Relationship Building
  • Warmly greet Members and guests upon arrival, creating a welcoming and professional first impression. Learn and use Member names whenever possible, anticipate needs, answer questions, and foster genuine relationships that enhance the overall wellness experience.
Facility Presentation, Cleanliness & Organization
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Fitness Center environment throughout each shift. Routinely inspect fitness areas, studios, locker room support spaces, and pool deck areas; restock towels, water, toiletries, and other supplies; and ensure all spaces meet Club presentation standards.
  • Prepare and maintain the pool deck and surrounding wellness areas each day. Arrange and organize pool furniture and equipment, monitor cleanliness, stock poolside amenities, and support a safe and enjoyable Member experience.
Hospitality Reservations, Scheduling & Member Support
  • Manage class, personal training, and wellness reservations using the Club's scheduling software. Create, modify, and cancel reservations, assist Members with booking inquiries, and provide accurate information regarding programs, schedules, policies, and services.
  • Consistently demonstrate exceptional hospitality by anticipating Member needs, maintaining attention to detail, and contributing to an elevated and personalized wellness experience aligned with Martis Camp service standards.
Communications and Fitness Class Support
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails in a timely, professional manner. Address Member questions and requests, relay information to appropriate team members, and provide administrative support to the Fitness Director, Coordinator, and instructors as needed. Process Member purchases and charges through the POS system, including fitness classes, personal training sessions, beverages, and retail items. Ensure transactions are accurate and completed in accordance with Club procedures.
  • Assist instructors with preparing fitness spaces before classes and events. Set up yoga mats, exercise equipment, and light furnishings; ensure rooms are properly arranged; and sanitize, organize, and return equipment to designated storage areas following each class.
Policy Enforcement, Emergency Response & Member Safety
  • Professionally communicate and uphold Fitness Center policies, procedures, and facility guidelines. Monitor facility usage and address concerns tactfully to ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all Members and guests.
  • Remain alert to facility safety concerns and respond appropriately during emergencies. Maintain CPR/AED certification (training provided if necessary), follow emergency procedures, and promptly report safety issues, incidents, or equipment concerns.
