Responsible for providing fitness and wellness experiences for members which includes personal training, group exercise programs, monitoring of equipment, floor coverage and administrative duties.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides professional assistance and guidance to members as it relates to their fitness and wellness needs, including teaching classes and workshops as needed.
- Provides oversight to the agency fitness areas, which includes overall cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
- Positions self to supervise and assist clients in personal training
- Identifies, instructs and monitors progress of the clients’ fitness level and
- Modifies exercise plans to meet the clients’
- Demonstrates the ability to assess, identify and/or correct improper form by clients to prevent potential injury.
- Assists with administrative responsibilities and day-to-day support for the fitness
- Provides 35 hours of direct service including 27 hours of Personal Training and 8 hours of group exercise, subject to change based on member’s needs to be determined between fitness associate and supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
While performing the above duties, this position routinely requires handling persons and/or objects and moving safely throughout the building. This position may include walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. This position requires communicating, either verbally or in writing. This position frequently requires moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. This position occasionally requires moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to complete all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

None, but may direct the work of part time personnel

Supervision from Fitness and Wellness Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field or an approved personal training certification preferred, with at least three years experience working in the fitness/wellness field.
