Job description

Schedule: Monday - Friday | Core Business Hours
Compensation: $25.00–$30.00 per hour
Department: Product Development

Edikted is a fast-growing, trend-driven fashion brand creating of-the-moment styles for the next generation. We move quickly, think creatively, and stay closely connected to our customer. Our teams are collaborative, hands-on, and passionate about bringing great product from concept to reality.

The Role

Edikted is looking for an In-House Fit Model to join our Product Development team. This role will serve as the primary fit model for proto and development samples, working closely with our Product Development and Design teams to help ensure consistency in fit, proportion, comfort, and overall garment execution. Edikted’s patterns are developed on a base size and then graded up and down the size range. The fit model’s body is the physical reference for that base size, so the model’s measurements directly determine how every size in the line will fit. For that reason, matching the fit specifications described below is an essential function of this position, not a preference.

In addition to fit modeling, this position will provide hands-on administrative and sample-management support to the Product Development team when needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, organized, comfortable providing feedback on garment fit, and able to thrive in a fast-paced fashion environment.

What You’ll Do
Fit Modeling & Product Development
  • Serve as the primary in-house fit model for proto, development, and other applicable samples across product categories.
  • Participate in scheduled fit sessions with Product Development, Design, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Try on garments and provide clear, constructive feedback regarding fit, comfort, movement, proportion, and overall feel.
  • Assist the Product Development team in evaluating garment fit and consistency throughout the development process.
  • Maintain body measurements within the tolerances of Edikted’s designated base-size fit specifications (see Required Fit Measurements below), which is an essential function of this position.
  • Participate in monthly measurement verification to support consistency throughout the product development and fitting process. Verification is conducted privately, over fitted clothing, by trained Product Development personnel using a consistent method, and is limited to the measurements listed below.
  • Be comfortable changing into and modeling a variety of apparel categories as required for fit evaluation. A private changing area is provided, and fit sessions are attended only by personnel with a business need to be present.
Sample Management & Administrative Support Minimal Hours/As Needed
  • Track and organize photoshoot samples to ensure accurate movement and availability.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute development samples to the appropriate teams.
  • Maintain an organized and accurate sample library.
  • Support sample check-in/check-out processes and assist with tracking sample location and status.
  • Provide additional administrative support to the Product Development team as needed.
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient workspace that supports a fast-moving product development calendar.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous fit modeling, fashion, apparel, product development, or sample-management experience is a plus.
  • Measurements within the tolerances of the company’s required fit specifications at hire, and the ability to maintain them, as described in Required Fit Measurements below.
  • Professional, dependable, punctual, and comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness and motivation to learn.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and pivot quickly as business needs change.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate fit feedback clearly in English, which is the working language of the Design and Product Development teams; additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Must be available to work on-site Monday through Friday during core business hours.
Required Fit Measurements

Because this position serves as the physical reference for Edikted’s base size, candidates must meet the following measurements, within a tolerance of [±½”] for each measurement other than height:

  • Height: 5’5”–5’7”
  • Bust: 33”
  • Waist: 26”
  • Thigh: 20”

Measurements will be verified during the selection process and monthly throughout employment to ensure continued consistency with the fit requirements of the role. These specifications are set by Edikted’s base-size pattern and may be updated only if the base size itself changes for business reasons, in which case the change will be communicated in writing.

Why the Measurements Are Essential

The measurement specifications are a bona fide, job-related requirement of this position and are consistent with business necessity. A fit model whose measurements fall outside the specifications cannot provide an accurate base-size reference: garments approved on a different body would be graded incorrectly across the full size range, producing fit errors in production. No alternative practice (such as dress forms alone, or rotating models of varying measurements) achieves the same consistency of live fit, movement, and comfort feedback on a single, stable reference body.

Reasonable Accommodation and Changes in Measurements

Edikted provides reasonable accommodation to qualified applicants and employees with physical or mental disabilities or medical conditions, to employees affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, and for religious beliefs and practices, unless doing so would cause undue hardship. Applicants who need an accommodation at any stage of the application, measurement, or interview process should contact Human Resources.

Edikted recognizes that measurements can change for many reasons, including pregnancy, medical conditions, and medication. Edikted will never require an employee to diet, exercise, undergo any medical procedure, or take any medication to maintain measurements, and will not ask about the reason for a change. If a verification shows that an employee’s measurements fall outside the specifications, Edikted will not take employment action based on a single verification. Instead, Edikted will meet with the employee in good faith to discuss the change and will consider whether a reasonable accommodation would allow the employee to continue in the role (for example, a temporary adjustment to the categories or samples fitted) and, where appropriate, transfer or reassignment to a vacant position for which the employee is qualified. Employees affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition retain all rights under California law, including pregnancy disability leave, transfer, accommodation, and reinstatement.

Application Requirements

To be considered for the In-House Fit Model position, applicants must submit:

  • Current body measurements, including height, bust, waist, hip, and thigh.
  • Recent, unedited full-body photos showing front, back, and side views. Photos should be taken in fitted, everyday clothing (for example, leggings or fitted pants and a fitted top). Please do not submit photos in swimwear or lingerie, and do not include any information unrelated to fit.

Submitted photos will be used solely for internal recruiting and fit-assessment purposes and will not be published or used externally. Photos and measurements will be reviewed only by personnel involved in the selection decision, will be used only to assess fit against the specifications above, and will be retained as part of the confidential application record as required by law.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on job-related experience and qualifications.

Edikted is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and consider qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

Please note:

The measurement requirements listed above apply only to this position, are based solely on the base-size fit specifications, and are applied in the same way to every applicant. They are not used to evaluate appearance or any characteristic protected by law, and they do not apply to any other position at Edikted.
