Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. in The Colony, TX is seeking an enthusiastic Sales Associate to provide a personalized customer experience on the sales floor. You will greet customers, determine needs, recommend products, and promote Scheels Visa while hitting sales goals.

You will help maintain visual merchandising, restock inventory, and participate in training sessions. This role requires basic computer and handheld scanner skills and a team-first attitude.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and 1-3 months of sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging customers and guiding them through the sale.
• Grow personal sales by meeting set goals and following Scheels' sales standards.
• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products purchased.
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and assist with freight processing and inventory restocking.
• Attend product training and store meetings; assist in training new associates.
• Navigate a computer and handheld scanner; use Office, Gmail, and AS400.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop
• Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
• Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience
• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing
• Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking
• Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ftAttend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings
• Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise
• Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
• Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months of sales experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
