Job summary

Saltwater Inc. is seeking a Dockside Sampler to support NOAA SEFSC Fisheries Statistics Division. The role involves field sampling of recreational head boat fishery data across the southeastern United States, data entry in Oracle, and QA/QC of biological samples.

A BS in Marine Science or related field and 3 years of relevant experience are required. Proficiency in fish identification, Excel, Oracle, and Access is essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in marine science or related field plus three years of relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of Southeast U.S. Atlantic marine fish identification.
• Proficiency with data management tools and basic statistics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as NOAA Fisheries field representative with head boat owners/operators and anglers.
• Identify and enumerate fish to species level; collect measurements, weights, and sex.
• Process QA/QC and analysis of biological samples; enter data into Oracle systems.
• Review daily reports and ensure data accuracy; prepare reports for weekly submission.
• Assist with data entry and processing; support outreach and administrative tasks.
