Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission in Wisconsin seeks a Limited-Term Field Fisheries Technician to assist with nighttime electrofishing and daytime fyke netting of adult walleye in Ceded Territory waters. You will help net fish, launch and operate boats, and collect biological information and samples from captures.
Travel for up to three consecutive weeks is required. Overnight lodging, per diem, and mileage are provided.
This is a limited-term (LTE) position. Dates of employment are not fixed but are anticipated to begin the week of September 14 and continue through the week of October 19.
Assist with nighttime electrofishing and/or daytime fyke netting of adult walleye in Ceded Territory waterbodies. Persons will help net fish, launch and/or operate boats, and collect biological information and samples from captured fish. The ability to travel for up to three consecutive weeks is required. Overnight lodging, per diem, and mileage provided.
Ability to lift fish out of water and into a livewell on survey vessels using a dip net. Ability to identify gamefish and panfish. Persons will be expected to follow all safety and personnel protocols, collect information in an efficient manner, and record data neatly and accurately. Vehicle and driver’s license are preferred but not required. Preference given to persons with previous GLIFWC employment.
