Agency Description

The First Judicial District of Pennsylvania (FJD) encompasses the Philadelphia County Court System, including the Court of Common Pleas and the Municipal Court. Our mission is to deliver fair, timely, and accessible justice while serving the community within our jurisdiction. The FJD operates under the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is committed to equitable justice.

Position Overview

This role involves clerical and accounting duties, applying bookkeeping principles. The selected candidate may be assigned to either the Juvenile or Domestic Relations Branch of Family Court, with potential reassignments based on operational needs.

Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, posting and reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and processing invoices. Work is guided by established procedures, with complex issues escalated to supervisors.

Typical Duties
  1. Post accounting data to ledgers and journals.
  2. Make routine account adjustments and prepare summaries and reports.
  3. Operate as cashier, accept payments, and reconcile receipts.
  4. Perform trial balances and financial statement preparations.
  5. Maintain expenditure and budget control accounts.
  6. Review and process invoices for payment.
  7. Analyze records for accuracy and compliance.

Perform related work as required.
