Job summary

Social Security Administration’s Law & Policy (L&P) seeks contracting and appropriations law attorneys to join our Program, Fiscal and Disclosure Law (PFD Law) – Fiscal Law Branch. You will handle a diverse federal workload and advise on contracting, use of agency funds, and related regulations.

Join us! The Social Security Administration’s Law&Policy (L&P) seeks contracting and appropriations law attorneys to join our dynamic team in our Program, Fiscal and Disclosure Law (PFD Law) – Fiscal Law Branch.

WHYPFDLAW’SFISCALLAWBRANCH:

PFD Law seeks highly qualified attorneys with at least two years’ experience handling all aspects of Federal contracting and appropriations law. Fiscal Law attorneys provide legal guidance on a wide variety of contracting and appropriations law issues, including legal advice and guidance regarding federal contracting, proper use of agency funds, agreements with other agencies, and associated Federal Regulations. Fiscal Law attorneys also represent the agency in bid protests.

Attorneys joining PFD Law will have significant responsibility for their own caseloads. Attorneys should have demonstrated strong analytical, research, and writing skills, as well as sound oral advocacy skills to present SSA’s interests. Attorneys also must have the ability to quickly form positive relationships with internal clients and external partners. Fiscal Law attorneys also may have the opportunity to work with the Department of Justice in representing SSA in Federal courts.

WORK LOCATIONS:

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS – HEADQUARTERS–BALTIMORE, ATLANTA, BOSON, CHICAGO, DALLAS, DENVER, KANSAS CITY, PHILADELPHIA, AND WASHINGTON, D.C.

SALARYINFORMATION:

We are hiring GS-12 through GS-14 attorneys. Salary depends on experience and location. The base salary ranges from $76,463-$139,684 and individuals in many geographic locations receive additional locality pay. Please see Salaries & Wages (opm.gov) for the salary range in your location.
