This on-site entry-level accounting position assists the Fiscal Director in presenting the financial condition of the Lancaster County Workforce Development Board (WDB) and PA CareerLink® Lancaster County to meet reporting requirements. Duties include entering receivables and payables, monthly cash reconciliation, collection of outstanding invoices, allocation of expenditures, and quarterly billing of partners. The candidate will also perform backup month-end responsibilities in the incumbent's absence.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular fiscal monitoring of subcontractors and provide fiscal guidance to subcontractors and vendors.
- Enter invoices in payables through the WDB accounting system as necessary.
- Assist the Fiscal Director with accounting functions to prepare monthly and year-end closeout reports in conjunction with state compliance reporting guidelines.
- Enter and print receipts of grant revenue received in the WDB accounting system as necessary.
- Prepare and enter journal entries with proper documentation as needed.
- Assist internal and external monitors/auditors by supplying documentation when requested.
- Assist the Fiscal Director in monitoring the PA CareerLink® Lancaster County operating budget and expenditures.
- Maintain accurate and timely budget-to-actual analyses.
- Work with the Title I Provider to collect and analyze data, monitor program activity, and act as liaison.
- Assist with the collection of outstanding invoices as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of one year of accounting experience.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Workforce Development Board functions, policies, and practices.
