Job summary

Binghamton University seeks an Engineering Communications Lecturer to teach our first-year engineering students essential oral and written communication skills, teamwork, and professional conduct. Reporting to the EDD Director, you will execute instructional plans for Engineering Communications I & II and coordinate with Design/Analysis instructors to provide a well-rounded foundation for future engineers.

Start date options include January 1, 2027 or August 16, 2027.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good organizational and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review instructional material and prepare weekly sessions.
• Teach eleven 2-credit engineering communication sections and one 1-credit pedagogy/mentorship course per academic year.
• Supervise undergraduate course assistants, hold office hours, grade assignments, and advise students.
• Attend training sessions and participate in service activities for EDD, Watson College, and the University.
