Qualifications

• Indiana First Steps hiring and credentialing requirements must be met.
• Bachelor's degree in child development, special education, early childhood education, or nursing.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must meet Indiana First Steps qualifications.
• Ability to pass background checks, TB testing, and other state-required screenings.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental therapy services in natural environments (home and community settings).
• Conduct developmental assessments and ongoing progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with families, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and family-centered interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with First Steps and state requirements.
• Educate and coach caregivers on strategies to support child development.

Position Overview

The First Steps Developmental Therapist provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers (ages birth to 3) and their families in home and community-based settings. This is a contract position that offers flexibility to create your own schedule while delivering evidence-based developmental therapy services.

Contract Position - Flexible scheduling with the ability to determine your caseload and availability

Salary: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide developmental therapy services in natural environments (home and community settings)
• Conduct developmental assessments and ongoing progress monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Eligible bachelor's degree in the area of child development, special education, early childhood education, or nursing
