Job summary

Monti, Inc. in Cincinnati is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to assemble metal components and repair damaged parts using heavy equipment and high heat.

You will read blueprints, determine welding method, and set up components to meet exact specifications, while preparing parts with grinders. In this role you will weld with manual or semi-automatic equipment in multiple positions, test and inspect welds, finish parts, and ensure safety and 6S practices at all times.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
• Familiar with AWS and OSHA safety standards.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and measuring tools.
• Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
• Mechanical inclination and manual dexterity.
• Reliable, highly motivated with good attendance.
• Steady hand for precision welding.

Responsibilities

• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Aligns components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamps pieces.
• Welds components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
• Grinds and finishes parts.
• Operates welding equipment and other machinery in a safe manner.
• Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations.
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Determines appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Sets up components for welding according to specifications.
