Job summary

Kraft Heinz Company in Cedar Rapids is hiring for a Bag Cook on the 1st shift (Mon-Thu, 4:00am-2:30pm). You will contribute to a high-volume, non-union plant producing frozen soups and macaroni & cheese, performing multiple positions as needed.

This role requires safe handling of ingredients and adherence to quality and safety standards. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lbs, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work well under pressure in hot/cold conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Comply with all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Check viscosity of soup and ensure consistent quality.
• Wash and sanitize kettles after each formula to maintain clean surfaces.
• Process daily schedule by following recipes and coordinating with prep department.
• Complete paperwork/IQS entries and inspections as required.
• Load ingredients into kettles and monitor flow of production.
• Take samples for QA testing and document results.
• Retrieve/return containers from prep/blanch and ensure proper storage.
• Adhere to HAACP checks and safety protocols; perform other duties as assigned.
