Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Greenville, SC is seeking a skilled technician to perform overhauls and repairs of assemblies including brakes, couplers and compressors. The role is 1st shift (7:00-3:30) with a starting hourly rate of $20.00 and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues.
Basic math and measuring skills.
Must be able to read fabrication & assembly blueprints.
Ability to read & interpret technical manuals & work procedures.
Able to work with little supervision, self-motivated and a self-starter.

Responsibilities

Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair and reassemble equipment that does not pass test.
Work with electrical and mechanical equipment.
Maintain assembly and test equipment as required.
Move material to and from workstation by hand, cart and crane as required.
Use calipers and micrometers to measure parts and determine tolerances.
Bond components using adhesives.
Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections.
Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
