Job summary

American Woodmark Corporation is seeking workers for production operations committed to meeting plant goals and customer expectations. You will identify colors via the outfeed system, load and stack pallets, and perform daily 5S/clean-up duties while following all safety and quality policies.

The role requires teamwork, basic computer literacy, and the ability to train others. Overtime may be required to meet production needs and client demands.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred; extensive knowledge of processes in the team may be considered
• Manufacturing/work experience and willingness to learn to operate required positions in the team assigned
• Record of successful team support, meeting work performance expectations and commitment toward continuous improvement
• Experience performing duties in a team environment committed to positive performance and SQDC goal achievement
• Excellent communication skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify colors through the outfeed computer system
• Ensure pieces are loaded onto assigned pallet
• Correctly stack pallets following the Standard Operating Procedure
• Organize multiple pieces to different pallets
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Display strong teamwork with outfeed partner to accomplish daily tasks
• Follow all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures
• Demonstrate behavior that aligns with plant expectations and CITE principles
• Complete all training required for operation of assigned area
• Available to work assigned schedule and shift hours as necessary to meet client/customer requirements
• Operate computer software necessary to assigned area
• Train new or back-up operators using certified peer trainer tools and techniques
• Responsible for daily 5S/clean-up expectations for assigned area
• Participate on Kaizen, TPM and cross functional team events as requested
• Perform other duties as directed by plant management
