Job summary

Western/Scott Fetzer Company in Avon Lake is seeking an Acme Operator for the first shift. You will operate Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machines to manufacture parts to specification, inspect coolant, oil level and air pressure, and use shop packages such as manufacturing orders, BOMs, routings, and part prints.

You’ll read technical drawings, maintain calibration dates on tools, perform quality checks, request materials when needed, and follow safe practices.

• Read technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Commitment to product quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate Acme Gridley multi-spindle automatic screw machines to manufacture parts to specification.
• Inspect coolant, oil level and air pressure before operating the machine.
• Maintain calibration dates for gages and tools.
• Operate multiple machines as required by the routing.
• Perform quality checks and document results.
• Request raw materials timely and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Follow safe working practices and report unsafe conditions.
