Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a General Labor to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. You will move, stack, label, tag, band and secure materials, and participate in safety and continuous improvement programs.

The role requires basic math, the ability to follow instructions, and being at least 18 years old. Prior lumber or manufacturing exposure is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Labels material based on type, size, and count.
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
• Binds, bundles and secures material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follows stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintains inventory of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Records production on production sheets.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Assists with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.
