Job summary

Joseph Michaels International seeks an Assembly/Harnessing Technician in Chatsworth, CA on first shift for a direct hire. The role is on-site with a collaborative manufacturing environment, reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

The ideal candidate has a J-STD certification and 5+ years in electrical assembly and soldering, plus experience reading engineering drawings. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• J-STD solder certification required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of electrical assembly experience.
• 5+ years of soldering experience.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble high-reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, stand-offs, wire harnesses, solder and crimping, electrical and mechanical instruments.
• Perform high-reliability soldering and crimping on complex sub-assemblies, boards, jumper wires and wire harnesses.
• Decipher and follow assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions.
• Adhere to Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering to diagnose rework needs on intricate models.
• Work with engineering to innovate testing procedures and workflow changes.
• Maintain cleanliness and traceability records for controlled programs.
• May travel to customer facilities and service company hardware.
