Job summary

Simon & Schuster in Riverside, NJ is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for the first shift in our Distribution Center. You will unload trailers, handle inventory with an RF scanner, and support putaway operations. The ideal candidate has prior forklift experience, can lift up to 50 lbs, follows safety rules, and is available for overtime.

• Operate Selector, Reach, Pacer, Drexel, and Turret forklifts.
• Experience using RF scanners for inventory receiving and processing.

• Ability to follow company safety rules and procedures.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Simon & Schuster is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Distribution Center in Riverside, NJ, on the first shift. This position will support the Receiving Department by unloading trailers, processing incoming inventory, and assisting with putaway operations. The ideal candidate will have prior forklift operating experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and safely handle incoming merchandise.

• Receive and process inventory using an RF scanner.

• Profile book titles using Cubiscan equipment.

• Transport pallets to Pick and Deposit (P&D) stations for putaway.

• Assist with inventory putaway and warehouse organization.

• Operate various types of material-handling equipment as needed.

• Perform additional duties as assigned based on departmental workload.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous forklift operating experience is required.

• Ability to safely operate Selector, Reach, Pacer, Drexel, and Turret forklifts.

• Experience using RF scanners for inventory receiving and processing.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to follow company business standards, safety rules, policies, and procedures.

• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
