Job summary

Alaska Airlines is hiring a First Officer to support safe passenger transport from Seattle and other hubs. The role requires 1,500 hours total time, ATP/Instrument rating, and a current medical certificate.

You must be able to travel domestically and internationally and meet domicile options across major West Coast and Alaska cities. The position is union-represented with competitive pay per seniority and a comprehensive benefits program, including standby travel privileges and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1500 hours total flight time.
• Current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
• Minimum of 500 hours fixed wing turbine time.
• Passport with unlimited access and at least six months validity.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane.
• All aeronautical experience requirements for ATP per 14 CFR 61.159.
• Current ATP written exam.
• Strong written and verbal English.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Domicile in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; or San Francisco, CA.
• Minimum 23 years of age.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform as Second in Command in transport of passengers, mail, or freight.
• Comply with FARs, Flight Procedures and Company Policies for safety.
• Operate aircraft adhering to Qualification Standards and Flight Manual procedures.
• Communicate with required agencies and personnel per company practices.
• Maintain professional demeanor and maturity at all times.
• Demonstrate command and sound judgment in decision making.
