Job summary

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) in Oregon seeks a Manufacturing Engineer – FoK & Process Development to lead the transition of new electrical distribution equipment from design through first-of-kind builds, pilot runs, validation, and production launch.

This hands-on role works on the manufacturing floor solving build issues and improving manufacturability. The engineer collaborates with Product Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Test, and Manufacturing teams to ensure builds are

Qualifications

• BS in engineering; manufacturing or related field required.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, product launches, or new-product introduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead FoK manufacturing engineering activities for builds and pilot production.
• Review designs, BOMs, specs for manufacturability, serviceability, quality, safety, and cost.
• Identify risks before product release to production.
• Develop and document manufacturing methods, work instructions, and standard work.
• Create build plans, validation plans, lessons learned, and action-item tracking.
• Lead root-cause analysis using PFMEA, control plans, and corrective actions.
• Support development and validation of fixtures, tooling, and workstations.
• Establish labor estimates, cycle times, staffing, line balance, and capacity assumptions.
• Coordinate with Quality for critical-to-quality characteristics and inspection points.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to identify material availability and supplier quality concerns.
• Support DFMA reviews and transition from pilot to production.
• Track performance, defects, rework, test failures, throughput, and lessons learned.
