University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center seeks an experienced non-invasive cardiologist to build and lead a new service line in a community with strong administrative support. This full-time, hospital-employed role provides inpatient and outpatient care as the first cardiologist on staff, with infrastructure in place for long-term program growth and emphasis on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• MD license in Maryland required.
• Board Certification in cardiology required.
• DEA certification required.
• UMMS affiliated acute care facility privileges required if applicable.
• Meeting CME requirements for licensure and board certification.
• 35+ years of post-training clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Non-invasive only; no interventional cardiology.
• Inpatient rounding ~14 patients/day; 34 new consults/day.
• Outpatient clinic with stress testing, echocardiography, carotid dopplers, TEEs, cardiac imaging.
• Elective procedures available.
• Call: shared and flexible about 7 days/month.
• No APPs initially; hiring anticipated as volume grows.
• Emphasis on work-life balance and sustainable scheduling.
• Collaborate with administration to support patient satisfaction and access.
• Represent department in community outreach, education and engagement.
