Responsibilities

• 在指定班次提供一线领导，与运营、维护、工程、质量、事业部等团队协同，确保安全、可靠、高效的生产执行。
• 带领班次交接，明确优先级、设备状态、人员需求与安全关注点。
• 在发生中断、设备故障或过程异常时，及时做出现场决策，确保产线持续运行。
• 协调人员配置，支持生产目标与维护工作；与相关部门合作提升设备可用性与工厂停机时间。
• 推动安全领导力，执行许可工作流程并监督、审查合规与事故响应。
• 促进跨职能沟通与对齐，辅导现场员工与班组长，强调安全、卓越运营与企业价值。
• 关注关键班次绩效指标，如安全、质量、交付、设备 uptime、人工利用率与生产力。
• 推动改进计划，聚焦安全、可靠性、生产力、成本与运营效能。

Position Summary

Qnity is seeking a First Line Manager (FLM). This individual will serve as the primary leadership presence during assigned shifts, providing 24/7 operational oversight across manufacturing and maintenance operations. This highly visible role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable execution of production activities while maximizing workforce effectiveness, equipment uptime, and operational performance.

The Shift FLM acts as the central coordination point between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Utilities, and Warehousing teams, enabling rapid decision-making, effective communication, and seamless execution across all areas of the facility.

IMPORTANT: This position works a rotating 12-hour schedule

• Week 1: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday)
• Week 2: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
• Week 3: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
• Week 4: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

What You'll Do

• Provide frontline leadership for manufacturing and maintenance operations during assigned shifts.
• Lead shift change and handoff activities, ensuring clear communication of priorities, equipment status, workforce needs, and safety concerns.
• Make real-time operational decisions to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production.
• Coordinate staffing and workforce deployment to support production goals and maintenance activities.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering teams to maximize equipment availability and plant uptime.
• Drive rapid response to operational disruptions, equipment failures, process upsets, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Serve as a visible safety leader by conducting audits, observations, compliance reviews, and incident response activities.
• Support permit-to-work processes, including confined space entry, hot work, lockout/tagout coordination, and contractor oversight.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment across manufacturing, warehousing, quality, utilities, engineering, and maintenance teams.
• Coach and support hourly employees and team leaders while reinforcing safety, operational excellence, and company values.
• Monitor key shift performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, equipment uptime, labor utilization, and productivity.
• Drive accountability for shift results and ensure timely completion of action items and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, productivity, cost, and operational effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, chemical processing, industrial, refinery, power generation, or related operational environment.
• Experience leading production operations and coordinating cross-functional teams in a 24/7 operation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing safety practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing workforce allocation, production priorities, and operational problem-solving.
• Ability to make effective decisions in fast-paced, changing production environments.
• Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, advanced materials, semiconductor, or process manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work systems, confined space entry, hot work, and lockout/tagout programs.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies.
• Experience partnering with maintenance, reliability, engineering, and technical teams to improve equipment performance and uptime.
