Job summary

Zanskar is seeking its first in-house General Counsel to partner with the co-founders and leadership. You will oversee governance, financing, project development, and commercial matters to accelerate geothermal projects while building a scalable legal function.

As the in-house leader, you will shape risk management, leverage AI for high-volume workflows, and drive strategic decisions in a high-growth, mission-driven company based in Salt Lake City. Equity is offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in good standing with eligibility for Utah admission or registration.
• Experience in in-house roles at high-growth energy, infrastructure, or project developers is preferred.
• Strong judgment with ability to translate risk into practical guidance.
• Comfort with using legal tech and automation to scale workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day legal work across governance, financing, project development, contracts, public policy, employment, IP, compliance, and real property.
• Structure, negotiate, and manage project development, financing, tax, and interconnection agreements to support bankability.
• Partner with founders and leadership to design and scale a modern, lean legal department.
