Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience managing business/department functions and staff.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and related privacy laws.
• Ability to communicate clearly and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong customer service in a timely, professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study meeting students' needs.
• Assist in establishing department or grade-level objectives and the development of the comprehensive plan for implementation and evaluation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for all lessons.
• Employ instructional methods and materials that meet objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses with district specialists.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and maintaining classroom order.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support personnel and volunteers.
• Use appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and policy.
• Adhere to ethics and district policies and participate in school improvement initiatives.
• Recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and act per procedures and law.
• Establish testing environments and maintain test security.
