The ideal candidate will have a JD from an ABA-accredited school, NY Bar admission, and at least eight years of civil litigation experience, with strong deposition and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission in good standing to the New York State Bar.
• Minimum of eight years of civil litigation experience.
• Proven record of cases tried to verdict as first chair.
• Strong knowledge of CPLR and New York trial practice.
• Extensive deposition experience.
• Strong written advocacy skills.
• Willingness to travel within the New York metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Try cases to verdict as first chair in jury and bench trials.
• Manage a trial-ready docket of high-value cases.
• Conduct discovery and motion practice, including depositions and drafting motions.
• Build the trial record with expert witnesses and demonstrative evidence.
• Evaluate and negotiate settlements and represent the firm in mediations.
• Mentor and supervise associate attorneys.
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding case status.
• Ensure compliance with professional and court rules.
