Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and Texas bar admission by start date.
• Two years of full-time attorney experience preferred for III; more for IV.
• Strong research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent state agencies in state and federal courts and appellate courts.
• Take and defend depositions; draft pleadings, briefs, and discovery.
• Provide legal advice and prepare cases for trials; conduct legal research.
• Manage a diverse docket and maintain knowledge of relevant statutes.
• Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and ethics.
