Golf Professional First Assistant at Cherry Valley Country Club | Premier Golf & Tennis | Skillman, NJ

Job Summary:

The First Assistant Golf Professional will assist in daily golf operations, supervise golf staff, drive revenue, manage assets, and promote golf through lessons and tournaments.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  1. Train staff and implement procedures for Golf, Pro Shop, and Outside Services.
  2. Schedule and recruit staff to meet operational needs and provide excellent Member Service.
  3. Manage merchandise profit/loss, assist with budgeting, inventory control, and ensure stock levels.
  4. Set standards for merchandise display, pricing, and promotions.
  5. Communicate effectively with staff, Members, and Senior Management.
  6. Supervise the golf department in the absence of the Director of Golf/Head Professional.
  7. Promote club activities, sell and manage tournaments and events.
  8. Lead golf clinics, lessons, and programs, ensuring Member satisfaction and adherence to standards.

Candidate Profile:
  • PGA PGM Level 3 or Member.
  • College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent acceptable.
  • Customer service experience and extensive golf knowledge.
  • Proven management, organizational, and coaching skills.
  • Experience with tee sheets and inventory systems.
