Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Michigan is seeking First Article Inspectors to connect with manufacturers in and around Whitehall in Muskegon County. These opportunities are part of our growing manufacturing-focused recruitment network.

Salary ranges from $54,000 to $81,000 per year, depending on experience, with potential for growth as you align with partner companies in the Whitehall area. We prioritize quality and accuracy in inspections and documentation.

Qualifications

Experience reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T.
Hands‑on use of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Familiarity with first article inspection reporting, including AS9102 or PPAP formats.
Ability to document inspection results accurately and consistently.
High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
Attention to detail and comfort working to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

Complete and submit AS9102 or PPAP first article inspection reports.
Document dimensional and visual findings in inspection records and quality logs.
Flag nonconformances and route parts or reports to quality and production teams.
Work with machinists and engineers to resolve drawing or tolerance questions.
Maintain calibration records for inspection tools and gauges.
Support incoming and in-process inspection when first article work is light.
Perform first article inspections on machined and fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM equipment.
Compare inspection results against engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
