Job summary

Seaway Plastics is seeking a Quality Assurance/Inspection professional in Port Richey, FL. The role focuses on dimensional inspections of engineering samples, in-process checks, and PPAP/validation support to qualification efforts for production parts.

You will generate accurate inspection results, contribute to QMS documentation, and back up floor and final inspection activities as needed. Intermediate GD&T knowledge and CMM/vision experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in QA or inspection in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of basic mathematics and measurement practices.
• Familiarity with QMS concepts including ISO9001/AS9100/ISO13485.
• Experience with CMMs or vision inspection tools.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and drawing interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections on engineering samples and production parts per QE/PM requests.
• Conduct in-process inspections with Micro-Vu or similar equipment.
• Create and follow inspection plans per customer drawings and QMS procedures.
• Enter inspection results accurately into the QA logs.
• Support floor operations and final inspections as needed.
• Assist production with quality questions and issue resolution.
• Ensure QA documentation is complete and accurate.
• Support customer-specified SPC data as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Dimensional inspection
• FAIR
• CMM/ Micro-Vu results
• Inspection plans

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Dimensional inspections on engineering samples as requested by QE’s or PM’s.
• In-process production dimensional inspections when the Micro-Vu is required to execute those inspections.
• Dimensional inspections on PPAP or validation samples to support qualification/ validation efforts for production parts.
• All full FAI layout inspections in accordance with AS9102 format and QMS procedures.
• FAI layout inspections utilizing Micro-Vu executed with high degree of accuracy.
• Timely entry of all FAI and measuring activity into department log providing organizational visibility of said activities.
• Create in-process inspection plans based on customer defined critical criteria on customer part drawing and per QMS procedure.
• Provide back up support for floor in-process inspection as directed based on resource needs.
• Provide back up support for final inspection as directed based on resource needs.
• Provide support to production machine operators or production team members related to product quality questions.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all QA documentation related to associated inspection activities involved.
• Provide support for customer specified SPC as required.

• Proficient use of hand-held measuring instruments. Experience with micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators, and optical comparator.
• Knowledge and interpretation skills regarding the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
• Working knowledge of inspecting techniques and testing procedures.
