Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in Berlin, CT is seeking an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer II to contribute to the development of next‑generation Digital door Lock products. You will design and implement embedded firmware for BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other network technologies, and collaborate with hardware teams throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires 3+ years of embedded experience in C, RTOS, and protocol interfaces (I2C/SPI/UART), with a focus on code size, speed, memory, power management, and task

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of embedded development experience using C language.
• Proficient with C, RTOS, Git, and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware for BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other network technologies.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during design, development, and integration.
• Program, debug, and write automated unit tests; participate in code reviews and optimization.
• Collaborate with the hardware team during design, development, and integration.
• Work within a scrum team to deliver firmware features and improvements.
• Assist team with best coding practices for efficient, maintainable firmware.

We are seeking an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to support our efforts in building world-class mobile solutions for our direct-to-consumer products, as well as our business partners.**What you will be doing** * As an embedded software/firmware developer you will be working on next-generation Digital door Lock products developing embedded firmware applications in BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, and other network technologies* You will work with internal and/or contract firmware developers and architects involved in design and system architecture discussions, hardware analysis, and application design* Programming and debugging the code, writing automated unit test scripts on features developed/integrated, working with co-developers in code review, code optimization, power management, etc* Collaborate with the hardware team during design, development, and integration* Participate in code review process, unit testing, feature integration work, and assist team workers with best coding techniques in building best embedded firmware applications* Work within a scrum team to collaborate on design**What we are looking for*** BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.* 3+ years of embedded development experience using C language.* Must be proficient with C, RTOS, Git, and Jira* Experience in design, development, and testing complex, multi-threaded embedded IoT applications, and communication protocols via I2c, SPI, UART, and others* Specializing in optimizations for code size, execution speed, memory usage, task scheduler and interrupt controlling, exception handling, and power management.**What we offer**This position will be performed onsite Monday through Friday at our Berlin, CT office.The annual salary for this role is $95,000-119,000.The final pay rate offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level, and other qualifications for the role.
