Job summary

Neurophos is seeking a talented Firmware Engineer in Austin, TX to advance our novel LLM accelerator. You will develop and optimize the firmware layer that directly drives our hybrid optical-electronic compute hardware, ensuring reliability and performance across the system.

You will work with hardware teams to define interfaces, build testing tools, and contribute to end-to-end performance from software to hardware, while supporting customer integrations and documenting firmware interfaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in firmware engineering, embedded systems, or low-level systems programming
  • Proficiency in embedded C++ and Python for tooling/automation

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to low-level firmware to orchestrate execution of LLM workloads across hardware accelerator components
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software-hardware interfaces
  • Develop debugging, profiling, testing, and validation frameworks and documentation
