Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Firewall Infrastructure Engineer in Seattle to drive infrastructure security and performance across platforms.

You will design, implement, and manage enterprise firewall ecosystems with Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Tufin, while building automation and AI-assisted workflows for faster, auditable outcomes. You will collaborate with Network Operations and Service Delivery to modernize the environment, ensure resiliency, and align with security

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years of firewall and network security design, engineering and implementation experience within a large enterprise environment.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure engineering areas such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, automation, scalability, resilience or performance assessments.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation and data-sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, ensuring resiliency, security and auditability.
• Deep knowledge of one infrastructure technology and scripting languages.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with ability to operate in private and public clouds.
• Knowledge of DMZ and boundary network architectures.
• Software development experience in Python, Ansible, Terraform, JSON.
• Understanding of micro-services, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and TCP/IP routing

Responsibilities

• Applies technical expertise to projects of moderate scope and crafts creative solutions for design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Uses enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and document outputs securely.
• Drives workstreams across infrastructure technologies to modernize processes and resolve issues.
• Considers data flows and system implications; advises on mitigations.
• Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options.
• Designs, implements, and manages enterprise firewall infrastructure (Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Tufin).
• Develops automation scripts for provisioning and operations; creates engineering artifacts for certified tech products.
• Develops implementation and operational documentation.
• Acts as escalation point for Network Operations and Service Delivery teams.
• Coordinates with stakeholders across teams.
