Qualifications

• NSE 4/5/7 certifications are valued

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage SD‑WAN solutions across multiple locations.
• Configure network devices, perform updates, and monitor performance.
• Leverage FortiGate SD‑WAN and ADVPN via FortiManager.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, perform PCAP and log analysis of VPNs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customer personnel for network needs.
• Prepare, review, and validate client configurations; maintain diagnostic procedures.
• Serve as local point of contact for incidents and manage inventory.

Our client, a global technology solutions provider serving large public and private organizations, is seeking a skilled SD-WAN Engineer for a 1-year onsite engagement in the Dallas/Plano, TX area. This is a highly specialized role supporting the ongoing operation of security infrastructure at a customer site, with deep, hands‑on focus on FortiGate SD‑WAN and ADVPN technologies.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, implement, and manage SD‑WAN solutions to ensure reliable, efficient connectivity across multiple locations
• Configure network devices, perform system updates, and monitor network performance
• Leverage FortiGate’s SD‑WAN and ADVPN functionality using the latest mature features, orchestrated through FortiManager
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues, perform PCAP and log analysis, and debug VPNs
• Collaborate with internal teams and customer personnel to address network needs and provide technical support
• Prepare, review, and validate client product configurations; maintain best‑practice diagnostic procedures
• Act as the local point of contact for incidents, assist with open support tickets, and track hardware/software inventory

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Deep, hands‑on experience with Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN and FortiGate firewalls — candidates who have owned SD‑WAN design (not just supported it) are strongly preferred
• NSE 4 (FortiOS Administrator), NSE 5 (FortiManager Administrator), and/or NSE 7 (Enterprise Firewall) certifications are highly valued and closely map to this role’s requirements
• Experience with Nexus switch configuration and troubleshooting
• Proficiency with Palo Alto and/or Firepower firewall configuration and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Cisco Wireless Controllers, 802.11 troubleshooting, Cisco Spaces, Cisco DNA, routers & switches
• Experience with Cherwell for ticket/problem management

Nice to Have:

• Cisco Collaboration/Webex/Call Manager, Contact Center, Umbrella, or ThousandEyes experience
• Experience with Viptela (Cisco SD‑WAN)
• Cloud/IaaS knowledge (vendor agnostic)
• Fully onsite, 5 days per week — no remote/hybrid option
