Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Firewall Administrator to support the DLA’s Firewall Administration team in a hybrid Columbus, OH role. Responsibilities include monitoring firewall logs, developing requirements, and coordinating with government representatives to deliver secure solutions.

Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance with IT-I eligibility and relevant DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certifications, plus cloud/security credentials.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility.
• Active DoD 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+).
• Active DoD cloud and security certifications listed above.
• Comprehensive knowledge of firewall and security hardware/software.
• Experience with LAN/WAN operations and IA best practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and accomplishment in monitoring and analyzing Firewall system logs.
• Works under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion.
• Develops required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems.
• Coordinates with the Vendor PM, TPOCs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
• Ability to formulate Security policy and manage Security configuration.

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility
• Active DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II or higher (ex. Security+)
• Active Computing Environment certification (one of the following):
  • CCSA
  • CCSE
  • CCSM
• Active Category Two-Cloud certification (one of the following):
  • AWS CSA Associate AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
  • AWS CS Specialty AWS Certified Security-Specialty

Minimum Experience

• Five (5) years of relevant experience to include the following:
  • Working knowledge of Firewalls.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of industry standard network environments to include firewall and security hardware/software.
  • Working knowledge of Information Assurance Best Practices.
  • In depth knowledge of LAN and WAN operations.
  • Knowledge of industry standard Incident Ticket Tracking systems for inputting incident tickets and creating work orders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOD and DLA security regulations, guidelines, and policies, to include, but not limited to, IA standards.
  • Working knowledge of the installation, configuration, and day-to-day sustainment of network equipment, to include but not limited to firewalls and other network appliances.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
