Job summary

Hamilton Parker in Columbus, OH is seeking a Fireplace Installer/Service Technician to install pre-fabricated fireplaces in homes and commercial sites, retrofitting or adding fireplaces to new or existing structures.

Responsibilities include installing vents, reading technical specs, and maintaining safety and cleanliness while moving fireplaces over 100 lbs. The role requires driving to various jobsites and communicating with customers and team members daily.

Qualifications

• Comfortable with heights and working on ladders/roofs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Mechanically inclined and good with tools.
• Able to work independently or with a team.
• Lift up to 100 lbs and move/install fireplaces over 100 lbs.
• Read and follow technical specifications from manufacturers.
• Understand building materials and home construction.
• Must meet building codes.

Responsibilities

• Install pre-fabricated electric, gas and wood-burning fireplaces.
• Install metal venting pipes per specs.
• Penetrate drywall/side walls for installation.
• Provide basic service on existing fireplaces as needed.
• Drive to multiple jobsites daily.
• Follow manufacturer specifications for installation.
• Maintain clean and organized work truck/site.
• Communicate with customers and team members.
• Work with gas lines and basic electrical concepts.

Job description

Responsible for installing pre-fabricated fireplace products into homes, commercial sites, etc. The Fireplace Installer/Service Technician must reflect and represent Hamilton Parker’s core values, H.E.A.R.T. (History, Enthusiastic, Adaptive, Reputable, Team-oriented).

Job Responsibilities

• Install pre-fabricated electric, gas and woodburning fireplaces (may be retrofitting an existing fireplace or adding a fireplace to an existing or new home).
• Installing metal venting pipes through a roof or attic to manufacturer’s specifications
• Penetrate drywall/side walls for installation.
• Occasionally providing basic service on previously installed fireplaces.
• Safely drive to various jobsites throughout the day.
• Able to read and follow technical information and specifications provided by the manufacturer regarding proper installation.
• Understand and work with the building materials and construction of a home.
• Must know and meet specific building codes.
• Effectively communicating with customers and team members
• Use multiple power and hand tools proficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work truck and job site.
• Work with gas lines and understand electrical at a basic level.
• Safely move and install fireplaces over 100 lbs.

Skills & Abilities

• Comfortable with heights (working on a ladder and roof).

• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

• Required to maintain a valid driver’s license (to drive a company truck).
