Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years service in a public safety role or equivalent.
• Must possess NPQ Firefighter I certification and NPQ HazMat certification.
• EMT or Paramedic certification required or by state standards.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire alarms and implements suppression techniques to protect lives and property.
• Operates fire apparatus and equipment; performs rescue, ventilation, and patient care as needed.
• Inspects buildings for code compliance and educates the public on fire prevention.
• Works within command structure and follows orders during emergencies.
• Maintains equipment, participates in drills, and documents activities.
