Job summary

Jobtailor in Tampa, Florida is seeking an experienced Fire Protection System Designer to design and lay out fire protection systems in AutoCAD-based CAD tools, and coordinate with AHJs, contractors and other trades.

Responsibilities include site surveys, permitting coordination, hydraulic calculations, and documentation. NICET II/III/IV preferred; 5 years’ experience or a design degree with 2+ years; proficiency in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fire protection system design, or a fire system design degree with 2+ years of experience.
• NICET Level II/III/IV required/preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; HydraCAD and AutoSPRINK preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFC, NFPA, IBC, NEC codes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong math and computer skills; valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screen.
