Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain, and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems across diverse facilities. You will ensure reliability and compliance with applicable codes and standards, delivering safe, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years directly related experience.
• Valid state specific license, required.
• Knowledge of NFPA 17 and related standards for inspection, testing, and maintenance.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, pipe threading machines, and related equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections and tests on fire suppression systems (including kitchen hood systems) per NFPA 17, NFPA 96, and other codes.
• Perform routine maintenance on system components per NFPA standards and manufacturer specs.
• Test and recharge agent cylinders, ensuring proper pressure and agent.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues; implement corrective actions per NFPA requirements.
• Repair and replace system components to maintain compliance.
• Coordinate with clients to schedule visits and discuss improvements per NFPA requirements.
• Inspect and maintain gas cylinders, including hydrostatic testing and refilling.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore functionality.
• Document all service activities using the Service Trade platform.
