The Facilities Operations and Maintenance team is a highly responsive and knowledgeable crew that provides outstanding service for Facilities Services and the university community. Maintenance Operations, a branch of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division, provides comprehensive maintenance services in support of the University’s operations. Our teams offer opportunities for continuing education and various stipends for additional trade licenses. We are well‑matched for the university’s operational and maintenance needs, whether the facility is a brand new laboratory or our iconic Tower. We aim to identify operations and maintenance issues before a repair is needed, using a thoughtful approach to resources, processes, and client service. Provide journey level work associated with fire sprinkler systems, including testing, repair, inspection, maintenance, and operation.
High school graduation or GED. Two years of experience in journey level installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of electronic equipment, systems, and components. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Associate’s degree in a technical field. Knowledge of the Fire Water Distribution Loop. More than two years of the described experience. Experience at the University of Texas or a university setting. Demonstrated teamwork, customer service orientation, computer skills. NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing of Water‑Based Systems and/or Water Based Systems Layout. Master Plumber License. AutoCAD experience. Successful completion of the Leader Development Program.
$40,047 + depending on qualifications.
40 hours a week, five 8‑hour days, or possibly four 10‑hour days with schedule to be determined with supervisor. Some overtime, evening, weekends, and holidays possible.
