Gadsden Independent School District in New Mexico seeks a skilled Fire Sprinkler Technician to install, inspect, and repair district sprinkler systems in accordance with fire codes. The role involves coordinating with Fire Alarm Technicians and documenting all activities per policy and safety standards.
Responsibilities include reading blueprints, piping work, system testing, and dispatching inspections with fire officials.
Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in school district buildings, ensuring they function properly and according to local and national fire codes. Works and coordinates with Fire Alarm Technicians when required.Complies with the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession; upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives, regulations, GISD school board policies, as well as local, state and federal regulations.
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and computer security regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Understanding of plumbing principles, pipefitting techniques, and fire sprinkler system design
Valid Driver’s License
NICET Certified Fire Sprinkler Technician and current State of New Mexico Fire Sprinkler Fitter Journeyman’s license.
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
