Job summary

Radix Fire Protection Inc. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler System Design Engineer (entry or experienced level).

We are willing to train the right candidate to quickly create practical drawings for city plan-check and prepare installation plans for our construction team. Responsibilities include preparing layouts and designs of fire protection systems per NFPA codes, compiling fabrication listings, submittals, and close-out packages, and ensuring city approvals.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 2 years experience with AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare layouts, drawings, and designs of fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes.
• Prepare fabrication listings, material submittals, and close-out packages.
• Ensure plans are approved by the local City Fire Department and address city plan-check corrections.
• Assist with RFIs (Requests for Information) from city or construction teams.
• Prepare fabrication plans, material lists, and close-out documents.
• Develop preliminary fire protection plans for quantity take-off and cost estimation by Take-Off Team.
• Support project management activities as needed.

We have an immediate opening for a Fire Sprinkler System Design Engineer (entry or experienced level). We are willing to train the right candidate. The Ideal candidate must be a fast learner who can quickly create practical drawings for city plan-check and prepare installation plans for our construction team.

Position Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

• Prepare layouts, drawings, and designs of fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes.
• Prepare fabrication listings, prepare material equipment submittals, and submit close-out packages.
• Responsible for ensuring plans are approved by the local City Fire Department.
• Fix any corrections from the city plan checker as needed.
• Assist with RFI (Request for Information).
• Prepare fabrication plans, material list, and close-out documents
• Prepare a preliminary fire protection plan for quantity take-off and cost estimation by the Take-Off Team.
• Assist with project management assistant function as necessary
