Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to service and repair sprinkler and suppression systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.

You will follow troubleshooting procedures, read blueprints, maintain truck inventory, travel as needed, and uphold rigorous safety standards while delivering dependable, high‑quality customer service. Must lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirements.

  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and document issues.
  • Contact customer representative to ascertain problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler and suppression systems.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals and bulletins.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and specifications to diagnose issues.
  • Deliver high level of customer service with strong organizational skills.
  • Work independently when required.

What you will do
  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial and residential applications. These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.
How you will do it
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Must have the ability to work alone.
What we look for
  • Required 7-10 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer.
Preferred
  • NICET Level II certification is a plus
  • Backflow certification is a plus
HIRING HOURLY RANGE

$25.00-36.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
