Job summary

Total Fire Protection in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. This full-time role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will conduct regular inspections of sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge), identify deficiencies, and prepare detailed reports. You’ll interpret NFPA/IFC codes and coordinate with owners, contractors, and our service crew to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in fire protection system installation or inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of fire codes and standards (NFPA, IFC, IBC).
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • NICET or Florida equivalent certification preferred.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems.
    • Sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge)
    • Fire pumps and controllers
    • Standpipe systems
  • Identify deficiencies and non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, test results, and recommendations.
  • Interpret and apply relevant fire codes and standards, such as NFPA, IFC, and local regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety requirements and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Stay up to date on the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and regulations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in fire protection system installation or inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Possess relevant State and/or National certifications, where applicable.
  • Strong knowledge of fire codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IFC, IBC).
  • Familiarity with various fire protection systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to use a computer, tablet and read electronic blueprints required.
  • Building Reports experience preferred.
  • Service Trade experience preferred.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must have NICET or Florida equivalent.
  • Backflow Testing Certification and Repair Licensing preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday
