Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking candidates for the position of Fire Sprinkler Fitter Trainee. Under supervision you will learn to cut and thread pipe, install and test the system, and participate in site clean-up and material staging while improving safety practices.

Qualifications

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.

Ability to pass various background checks.
Reliable transportation, valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle.
Desirable (but not required): Experience in the construction, plumbing, or fire protection industry.
General working knowledge of industrial and/or commercial installation methods.
Ability to read and comprehend drawings.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, participate in site clean-up, unloading and distributing materials.
Learn to cut and thread pipe, install and test the system.
Safety-sensitive role due to operation of vehicles, heights, ladders and lift equipment.
