Job summary

Western States Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice to learn and perform installation, repair and maintenance of fire protection systems at various job sites across Texas.

You may travel within the state; no prior experience is required, and eligibility to join the UA Local Union will be considered. The role supports safety, quality workmanship and timely project completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• No prior experience is required.
• Willing to become a member of the UA Local Union.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install, repair and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including underground piping.
• Install and service Standpipes, Wet Pipe, Dry Pipe, Pre-Action and Foam systems.
• Travel within the state and work on various locations/job sites as necessary.
• Comply with the union collective bargaining agreement.

Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice

Fire Sprinkler Fitters are pipefitting specialists in the fire protection industry and Western States Fire Protection is seeking qualified applicants for this position.

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to install, repair and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including underground piping
• Responsible for installing and servicing a variety of other fire protection equipment such as Standpipes, Wet Pipe systems, Dry Pipe systems, Pre-Action systems, and Foam systems.
• Travel within the state and willing to work on various locations/job sites; as necessary
• Comply with the union collective bargaining agreement

Job Qualifications

• Willing to become a member of the UA Local Union
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• No prior experience is required
• Possess a valid driver’s license; in accordance with Company policy
• Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds; with or without reasonable accommodation
• Willing to climb ladders; with or without reasonable accommodation
• Strong mechanical background is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment; with or without reasonable accommodation
• Willing to pass a post-offer drug test and background check; if applicable

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
• Regular bending, reaching, climbing and walking
