Responsibilities

• Install overhead sprinkler piping, standpipe systems, sprinkler system risers, and specialty fire protection systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
• Assemble and install components including hangers, valves, fittings, backflow prevention, bells, drains, and pumps per design plans.
• Interpret blueprints to determine layout and installation requirements.
• Measure and cut piping materials (steel, copper, CPVC) to specified lengths using cutting tools.
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure compatibility with building systems.
• Test and inspect installed sprinkler systems to verify operation and compliance with specs.
• Attend in-house trainings and contribute improvement ideas.
• Assist in training apprentices and maintaining high safety standards.
• Provide technical support to shop staff, technicians, and designers.
• Respond to duties assigned by supervision and foreman.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Job Summary:

A Fire Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing fire sprinkler systems. Fire Sprinkler Fitters will be responsible for fitting, fabricating, and installing sprinkler pipes and related components, ensuring that all work is completed according to the applicable codes and standards.

Pay Range:

$25.00/hour - $42.00/hour. The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position at the time of posting and is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual starting pay will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location (where applicable), and market considerations. Not all candidates will be hired at the top of the posted range. The posted range reflects base salary only and does not include any applicable bonuses, commissions, overtime, or the value of employee benefits. Eligible employees may participate in the Company's benefit programs, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of each plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Install overhead sprinkler piping, standpipe systems, sprinkler system risers, and specialty fire protection systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
• Assemble and install various system components including hangers, valves, fittings, backflow prevention, bells, drains, fire pump and stored water supply, and other components of fire sprinkler systems according to design plans.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements of fire sprinkler systems.
• Measure and cut piping materials, such as steel, copper, and CPVC, to specified lengths and dimensions using cutting tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with other construction trades, such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians, to coordinate installation activities and ensure compatibility with other building systems.
• Test and inspect newly installed fire sprinkler systems to verify proper operation and compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Attend scheduled in-house meetings/training and contribute recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in the development and training of fire sprinkler apprentices, in good installation procedures in order to create and maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety practices.
• Provide technical consultation and support to company apprentices, technicians, designers and shop employees.
• Respond to other duties/responsibilities that are assigned by the Superintendent and Project Foreman
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, always adhering to safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures.
