Job summary

Eagle Fire Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Field Technician (Inspector) to test, repair, and inspect fixed fire protection systems and document deficiencies. You will provide exceptional service to clients and keep accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities include scheduling inspections, communicating findings, and maintaining ongoing certifications. Some travel and physical tasks are required while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industry experience in fire protection services or similar.
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints and specifications.
• Fire Sprinkler service/inspection experience and relevant certifications.
• Able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards.
• Excellent customer service skills; self-starter who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Completes services following manufacturer instructions, codes/standards, and company policies.
• Schedules inspections with customers as required.
• Documents inspections for company and authorities; maintains records.
• Communicates discrepancies and required repairs to Eagle Fire and the customer.
• Maintains certifications/licenses and adheres to safety policies.

Job Description

The Field Technician (Inspector) is responsible for testing, repairing, and inspecting fixed fire protection systems and their components to ensure proper functionality and properly documenting any deficiencies. He or she must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Completes all services following manufacturer's instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures.
• Schedules inspections with customers as required.
• Provides documentation of inspections for Eagle Fire records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required
• Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to Eagle Fire and the customer
• Completes continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for the position
• Works safely using good judgment and following all Eagle Fire safety policies and work procedures and uses authority to stop an unsafe act
• Performs other related duties as required

Experience

• 4+ years of industry experience
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications
• Fire Sprinkler Service/Inspection experience
• Fire Sprinkler Manufacturer’s Certifications
• NICET certification
• Able to speak, read, and write English fluently
• Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
• Excellent customer service skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work alone
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record for last 5 years
• Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull
• Able to travel and stay out of town as needed
• Able to operate and efficiently use measuring instruments and gauges and assorted industry-related devices
• Able to work in extremely cold and extremely hot temperatures
• Able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels

The pay range for this position is $23 to $35 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, education, internal equity, and market data for comparable roles. The published range represents our expected hiring range for candidates who meet the requirements of the role. While most offers will fall within this range, we may consider compensation outside the published range in exceptional circumstances where a candidate's experience and expertise would bring significant additional value to the organization.
