The City of Chandler Fire Department is seeking a Fire Senior Inspector to join our team in Chandler, AZ. This is a full-time position with benefits and a 6-month probationary period; after probation, schedules may change to a 4/10 model as noted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with coursework in Fire Science or related field.
• 3 years of experience in fire prevention or related inspection work.
• ICC Fire Inspector I Certification.
• State Fire Inspector I within 1 year.
• Fire/Arson Investigator Certification within 2 years.
• ICC Fire Inspector II Certification within 1 year.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training accepted.

The City of Chandler Fire Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Fire Senior Inspector,this is a full-time position with benefits. The position is scheduled to work Monday – Friday 8/5 {after a 6 month probationary period is completed, schedule may change to a 4/10 schedule).

City charter authorizes the Department to mitigate all hazards, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and crisis intervention. We are looking for someone who will Performs a variety of technical inspections of public, commercial, industrial, residential and other buildings and premises to secure compliance with the City's fire prevention codes and regulations.

Minimum qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED and additional college coursework in Fire Science or related field
• 3 years of experience in fire prevention or related inspection work
• International Code Council (ICC) Fire Inspector I Certification
• State Fire Inspector I (or an equivalent/acceptable substitute such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire Inspector) within 1 year
• Fire/Arson Investigator Certification (AZIAAI I-IV, or NFA, or IAAI, or NAFI, or equivalent state Certification) within 2 years of hire or promotion
• ICC Fire Inspector II Certifications within 1 year of hire or promotion
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
• any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

The position available is a regular full-time position and is subject to a 6 month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
