Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential –

1. Ensure all training meets or exceeds current national standards.
2. Inventory fire equipment and other training materials.
3. Pickup and delivery of equipment to various training sites.
4. Ship training materials to appropriate sites.
5. Track equipment and ensure its return.
6. Clean and maintain training materials.
7. Maintain neat and well-organized records.
8. Process equipment requests according to established policies.
9. Maintain and service vehicles in the Fire Science inventory.
10. Supervise student workers.
11. Improve accountability.
12. Arrive on time, attend work regularly, and complete responsibilities.
13. Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

Secondary –

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinator of the Fire Science Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Kansas driver’s license required; having your own vehicle is preferred.
2. Ability to keep neat and well-organized records.
3. Ability to read and follow directions and procedure manuals.
4. Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, and carrying; excellent communication skills; ability to work under adverse conditions.
5. Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, operate office equipment, and perform keyboarding tasks; excellent verbal, written, and listening skills; manual dexterity; good vision and hearing; tact and courtesy in communication; attention to detail; ability to work independently; sedentary/indoor environment with keyboarding tasks.
6. Ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.
7. Physical and mental qualifications must be performable with or without reasonable accommodation.
8. Qualifications are guidelines; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to perform duties.

HOURLY WAGE and STATUS:

The hourly rate is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This is a part-time, non-benefit-eligible, non-exempt position, at-will employment.
