RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential –
- Ensure all training meets or exceeds current national standards.
- Inventory fire equipment and other training materials.
- Pickup and delivery of equipment to various training sites.
- Ship training materials to appropriate sites.
- Track equipment and ensure its return.
- Clean and maintain training materials.
- Maintain neat and well-organized records.
- Process equipment requests according to established policies.
- Maintain and service vehicles in the Fire Science inventory.
- Supervise student workers.
- Improve accountability.
- Arrive on time, attend work regularly, and complete responsibilities.
- Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
Secondary –
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinator of the Fire Science Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Kansas driver’s license required; having your own vehicle is preferred.
- Ability to keep neat and well-organized records.
- Ability to read and follow directions and procedure manuals.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, and carrying; excellent communication skills; ability to work under adverse conditions.
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, operate office equipment, and perform keyboarding tasks; excellent verbal, written, and listening skills; manual dexterity; good vision and hearing; tact and courtesy in communication; attention to detail; ability to work independently; sedentary/indoor environment with keyboarding tasks.
- Ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.
- Physical and mental qualifications must be performable with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Qualifications are guidelines; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to perform duties.
HOURLY WAGE and STATUS:
The hourly rate is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This is a part-time, non-benefit-eligible, non-exempt position, at-will employment.
